The Lead Member for Children, Families and Education at Somerset Council, Cllr Heather Shearer, has congratulated pupils, teachers and service staff for their hard work and resilience as A-Level, technical and vocational exam results are released today (14 August).
There was praise too for the parents and carers of the many hundreds of young people across the county preparing their next steps, whether that be in employment, an apprenticeship or university route.
Cllr Shearer said:
Somerset Council is proud of the hard work and resilience shown by pupils collecting their results today. We also congratulate the teachers, service staff, parents and carers who play a pivotal role in the lives of young people.
It’s a day of excitement, anticipation, and importantly, options. Because whatever the results, there are always choices and opportunities available. There’s lots of support out there too, from services offering expert advice on next steps which we encourage people to explore.
We wish all our Somerset pupils the very best of luck in whatever pathways they choose.
