Fostering in Somerset are inviting residents to drop in on their friendly information event in Frome this October, to discover how they could make a real difference to a local child’s life.
The session is a valuable opportunity to learn more about fostering in a relaxed and welcoming setting, whether someone is ready to take the next step or simply wants to ask a few questions.
Fostering can provide children and young people with the stability, care and support they need, while helping them stay connected to their local communities wherever possible.
There are children in and around the Frome area in need of foster homes. While around 700 children are currently in care across Somerset, there are not enough local foster carers to meet the demand in every community. More foster carers in the Frome area would help more local children stay close to their schools, friends, and communities.
The drop-in sessions are designed to be informal and supportive, giving people the chance to explore fostering at their own pace. There is no pressure to take things further.
Anyone who attends the session can enjoy a free coffee and slice of cake while chatting to their local foster carers and Fostering in Somerset’s friendly staff. They will be happy to share their experiences, answer questions, and explain the support available, including training and weekly payments.
Whether you are just curious or have been thinking about fostering for a while, this session is a simple first step.
