Providers are being asked to note several updates to the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) submission for Quarter 1 on PAMMS.
The changes have been made following provider feedback and to help develop a wider range of outcome measures across services.
What has changed?
- Emergency ambulance attendance has been added, with the exception of domiciliary care services.
- Completion of standard medication reviews in care homes has been added.
- Services will be asked whether they use a health deterioration tool. This will be extended to learning disability residential providers.
- Pressure ulcer prevention training has replaced mandatory Positive Behaviour Support training as the mandatory training requirement. Positive Behaviour Support training will continue to be highly relevant for some providers and may remain part of their bespoke training offer.
These updates are intended to help build a better understanding of how providers are taking part in, and putting into practice, improvement programmes within their services.
They may also support wider measurement of the effectiveness of preventative approaches and quality improvement programmes available across Somerset.
