Somerset Council will be undertaking vital drainage works on the A39 Quantock Road, Bridgwater, from Monday 23 February to Friday 27 February.

The works are to increase capacity of the drainage at this location and help to drain surface water on the carriageway, making it safer for drivers.

2-way temporary lights will be in place while the work takes place across the 30-metre stretch of road.

They will be controlled manually from 7am to 6.30pm to minimise disruption.

Advance signage will be installed on the road to make sure people know about the scheme.

Somerset Council’s Lead Member for Transport and Waste Services, Councillor Richard Wilkins, said:

Our team will do their best to get the work completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Drainage work is essential to make sure that surface water can drain away.

We are extremely grateful to residents and motorists for their support and understanding while this work is done.

If you spot a problem on the road you can report it quickly and easily via the Council’s Report a problem on the road webpage.
