Hello and welcome to the November edition of SEND News- it is full of insights, updates and opportunities to take part!

I think Erin has done a better job than I could in introducing this newsletter through her moving poem, which talks wonderfully about the barriers she has faced- thank you Erin for sharing this with us all.

“My Important Stuff” – has been designed to help young people to collect and share the things that are important to them which should help to remove some of the barriers that Erin describes – we would love your feedback about this resource.

The importance of championing Inclusion is certainly close to my heart and it is wonderful to read that Somerset has gained 40 further Inclusion Champions from across all sectors and settings.

If you missed the Local Offer Live sessions, there are details about how to access the recordings and information about the Wise Up workshops that are currently available for bookings.

There are also really useful updates about the support offered to children with disabilities, and relevant training and information across a number of sectors.

The team have been working hard to keep you in the loop with all the important developments in the world of Somerset SEND and Inclusion across Somerset. Let us know what you like about the Newsletter, and anything you think we can improve by sending us an email at sendcomms@somerset.gov.uk.

Happy reading!

Claire.
