Hello and welcome to the October edition of SEND News!

We hope you are enjoying our new editions of the SEND Newsletter. We are continually working to improve the content we share, so that it is built around you, and for you. We want to keep you in the loop with all the important developments in the world of Somerset SEND, Inclusion and the wider Children Services. Let us know what you like about our Newsletter, and anything you think we can improve by sending us an email at sendcomms@somerset.gov.uk.

We are constantly on the lookout for stories of our amazing young people to share in our new Lived Experiences section. Let us know about young people in your local area or in your educational setting and the activities they are involved with – these stories are so important to share and celebrate. Our hope is that these will inspire other young people to consider putting themselves forwards for new opportunities. Lived experience and real-life stories help build confidence and resilience across our communities, so do get in touch using our email address.

This month’s edition is packed with handy resources, local events, and training around ADHD in celebration of ADHD Awareness month. We also have a wonderful article from one of our Young Person’s Champions, Alice, around her work on helping to improve our pages on the Somerset Local Offer website, as well as our Unstoppables update. You can also read about Travel Trainers, some exciting school accessibility projects, and find out about some new workshops from the Parent Carer Forum. There is also a chance to get involved in improving Somerset’s Local Offer Website.

We hope you enjoy!
