Report a possible planning breach
Using the right contact route helps us avoid duplicate enquiries, reduce delays and make sure your enquiry reaches the right team.
Use our online service to report a possible breach of planning control.
You can still report it if you are not sure whether it has already been reported.
Check if a possible breach has already been reported
We do not routinely provide updates about investigations or enforcement action following an allegation. We will update complainants and councillors as the case progresses.
If you only need to check that a report has been registered, email the Planning Enforcement team for the relevant area.
Use “Case reference required” as the email subject and include:
- The location of the possible breach
- Details of the possible breach
- Any other information that will help us identify the case
We will email you the case reference and add you to the list of complainants for that case.
Contact the Planning Enforcement team
For general enquiries, contact the team responsible for the relevant area.
- North – planningenforcementnorth@somerset.gov.uk
- East – planningenforcementeast@somerset.gov.uk
- South – planningenforcementsouth@somerset.gov.uk
- West – planningenforcementwest@somerset.gov.uk
Only email the relevant team. Do not copy other Somerset Council officers into your email.
