Taunton Garden Town
Garden Town status for Taunton represents a once in a generation opportunity to improve the lives of our community.
The former Somerset West and Taunton Council declared a climate emergency and this supports the vision and themes in the Vision for Taunton as a Garden Town document. It will influence projects and initiatives as these are developed and rolled out.
The story so far
- 2017 – Allocated garden town status and funding
- 2018 to 2019 – Public consultation and engagement activity
- July 2019 – Vision document approved and adopted
- October 2019 – Design charter and checklist approved and adopted
