Overview
Welcome to the portal for the draft Somerset Local Nature Recovery Strategy Local Habitat Map.
Please read the following information before you look at the draft Local Habitat Map:
- There is a user guide to explain how to use the map.
- The map should be viewed alongside the written Statement of Biodiversity Priorities – the map and the statement together make up the draft LNRS.
- The map shows Areas of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (APIB), Areas that Could Become of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (ACBI), and Mapped Measures.
- The mapping has been produced using the latest and best available data sets; however, specific actions will always need to be sense checked in relation to actual conditions on site, i.e. ground, soil and topography, to ensure that the right habitat is being created in the right place.
- The inclusion of a location in the draft map does not require the landowner or other agencies to provide the potential measures listed or prevent other legitimate land uses from taking place.
- The map may be difficult to view on a phone; we would recommend viewing it on a bigger screen.
