About
The Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund helps councils in England work with electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operators to improve local charging networks. These public chargepoints are especially useful for people who do not have access to off-street parking and need to charge their EV on the street.
Somerset Council has received £3.78 million in funding through the LEVI Fund to support the expansion of the county’s public EV charging network.
Following changes in the market, we reviewed our original delivery approach and undertook further market engagement to inform the next phase of the project.
Using this feedback, we are developing a revised EV charging strategy and delivery model to support the rollout of chargepoints across Somerset. Subject to approval from LEVI and the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), we aim to begin a new procurement process in autumn 2026.
We will continue to update this page as the project progresses.
