Albermarle Life Skills – bringing people and community together

We help vulnerable people develop life skills, have fun and make new friends. This happens at home, in the community, on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Our clients tell us they feel more self-confident about achieving their goals.

Some of our people choose to learn new work skills, such as baking, cake-decorating and serving conference-users. Others choose to chat with friends, relax and laugh. Many enjoy doing both.

Our main activities are:

• Day services – a choice of fun activities every day including cooking, computers, art, creative craft, swimming, socialising, dance, life skills development, handling money, gym, local outings, allotment and so much more …
• Social evening clubs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
• Centrepoint disco on Thursdays
• All day outings
• Support – one to one, one to two, one to three or one to four support to access the wider community, choose what you do
• One to one tenancy support – paperwork and benefit support; budgeting support; volunteering or work placement support and/or employment support
• Training, qualifications and readiness for work placements
• Independent accommodation, with, or without support

IMPORTANT

We firmly believe in you having choice about the support you receive. So if you decide to make use of our well established day services, you can rest assured we will NEVER:

• lock you into a contract you can’t get out of
• charge you the maximum you could pay under Direct Payments or Personal Budgets
• prevent you from changing your days
• charge you if you can’t attend for any reason
• restrict your access
