Description

Blackberry Meadows Equine Therapy, Learning and Development.
We specialise in working with individuals with neurodiverse conditions, special educational needs and disabilities, school based anxiety, emotional and behavioural needs in a secure and supportive natural environment. Providing a range of experiential assisted activities based around horses and embracing nature to build confidence, self-control, improved self-regulation, communication skills and independence. For conditions like Autism and ADHD, horses provide a non-judgmental, calming presence.

The sessions include groundwork activities, such as grooming, leading, or simply being present with the horse, rather than riding, as well as resources. Providing the opportunity to learn and develop a wide range of skills and knowledge through a fully holistic approach in a natural environment. The sessions are suitable for children from age 4 years plus and adults, and facilitated using a person centred and relational approach, which is guided by the client’s own pace and needs to support their socio-emotional development.

Blackberry Meadows Equine offer: 1:1 sessions, a natural alternative to room-based learning, supporting animal care, horse leading and grooming, activities and obstacle field, countryside walks and exploring, learning practical skills and transport if needed.

I have a background of primary and secondary education, and care with specialist knowledge in supporting children with neurodivergent conditions including Autism and ADHD. By learning needs and emotional wellbeing through emotion coaching, this enables them to learn about themselves, how they interact in the world, how their behaviour affects others and how the behaviours of others affect them. Learning these skills can have a positive impact on how they live their own lives.
