Description
The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) are working with a selection of secondary, middle and primary schools across the County with support through the Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) with a team of practitioners in each area (Taunton, Sedgemoor, South Somerset and Mendip.)
Each team are responsible for:
- Delivering evidence-based Low Intensity CBT interventions for children, young people with mild to moderate mental health issues. We also provide Parent led LICBT and Parenting groups.
- Supporting the mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, or further develop their whole school approach to wellbeing.
- Providing timely advice to school staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education.
Requests for help can only come into the service through the Mental Health Lead in any MHST assigned school.
