Children and Young People’s Neurodevelopmental Partnership (CYPNP)
Communication and interaction, Health and wellbeing, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
Description
The Children and Young Person’s Neurodevelopmental Pathway (CYPNP) conduct NICE compliant neurodiversity (Autism and ADHD) assessments for children/young people, based In Somerset, aged 4 to 17 years who are in school or Electively Home Educated. You can also find out more on the Autism and ADHD Pathway page.
CYPNP assessments are therapeutically informed, our team seek to fully understand a child/young person’s unique profile of strengths and difficulties, rather than being a ‘yes or no’ diagnostic service.
We know that both families and professionals often have questions so use the contacts below.
CYPNP Telephone Advice Line
One of our clinicians will be on the line to provide a therapeutic space where your voice can be heard.
Contact us on 0303 033 3002 (Monday’s 1pm – 4pm, Wednesday’s 9am – 12pm and Thursdays 9am – 12pm).
On occasions where we may be unable to operate a live line, or the line is engaged, you may be put through to voicemail. Our clinicians will endeavour to get back in contact with you as soon as possible, as long as you leave us a message during our opening times. Please leave your young persons name, date of birth and a summary of what you would like to discuss with us.
We can:
- Provide advice relating to referrals into our service.
- Provide you with some advice around appropriate strategies to support your young person.
- Provide brief psychoeducation around Autism and ADHD differences.
- Signpost you to relevant services and sources of support tailored to your young person’s and family’s needs.
We are unable to:
- Change expedition request outcomes.
- Change referral outcomes.
- Provide post-diagnostic support for young people who have a diagnosis of Autism.
The advice line will not be able to answer questions about children who have already been seen by CYPNP. These questions need to be directed to the clinicians involved with the young person.
