From the 8th of June 2026, the Direct Payment advice and guidance service changed from Enham Trust to WECIL (West of England Centre for Independent Living.

The same colleagues currently supporting Somerset Council will continue in their roles, ensuring familiarity and consistency, and there will be no change to how the support, advice and guidance is delivered.

All services provided by Enham Trust have automatically transferred over to WECIL for all Direct Payment customers.

WECIL is an award winning, user led organisation supporting Disabled people to live the life they choose. Their approach is fully person centred. Their staff have lived experience and this informs the support we offer.

They challenge the barriers to independent living through the delivery of high-quality support and advice.

WECIL provide support on behalf of the council and NHS for people receiving direct payments and personal health budgets, for more information about direct payments see Somerset’s SEND Local Offer personal budgets and direct payments or see WECIL’s support for navigating direct payments.
