Description
A dedicated team of specialist English as an Additional Language (EAL) teachers, EAL advisory staff, and specialist EAL Learning Mentors. We work in close partnership with schools, children, and young people to champion inclusive, language-rich approaches to learning. Our aim is to raise aspirations and improve educational outcomes for pupils who use English as an Additional Language.
Using our specialist expertise, we support schools to strengthen and develop high-quality provision for EAL learners.
Our work includes:
- Providing regular academic and pastoral support for individual pupils and small groups through our specialist EAL Learning Mentors.
- Carrying out a range of specialist language assessments, as well as offering targeted support at key transition points.
- Working alongside schools and partner agencies to ensure that EAL pupils are able to access, achieve, and enjoy their education.
- Delivering a wide range of high-quality EAL training, including network meetings, professional learning sessions, and tailored school-based training.
