Togetherness
- Information, advice and guidance
Description
Connect Somerset have a collection of valuable online learning resources for parents, carers and grandparents worth £100 per person. Previously known as #LearnForLove.
This service is commissioned by Somerset Council for Connect Somerset early help in the community, and is based on the Solihull Approach. This uses courses to help parents, grandparents and caregivers understand how children’s brains develop, which helps them understand child behaviour. Solihull Approach is used in Somerset Health Visiting and the Family Intervention Service.
Research shows that this approach can significantly improve relationships, reduce depression and stress, and build confidence.
The online learning offer covers topics such as:
- Pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby
- Understanding your baby
- A sick or preterm baby in hospital and at home
- Understanding your child
- Children with additional needs
- Understanding your teenager’s brain
- Feelings and understanding your brain (for teenagers)
- Understanding children’s mental health and wellbeing
- Relationships
- Impact of the pandemic
