Patient Advice and Liaison Service
Health and wellbeing, Information and advice, Sensory and/or physical needs, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
Description
The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) offers confidential advice, support and information about health related matters. They are a point of contact for patients, their families and their carers. The PALS team can give you information, answer your questions and help to resolve problems quickly, all in an informal way.
Each healthcare provider has their own PALS team on site, so you can ask at reception or search their websites to find out how to contact them.
Or, if you have a concern, complaint or want to leave a compliment, you can contact these organisations:
- If it is about primary care services, such as GPs, dentists, opticians or pharmacy services, contact NHS England.
You can find more information on their website. - If it is about care or treatment you have received from a hospital, you should contact the PALS complaints team at that hospital, for advice. There will be more details on their individual websites.
- If it is about services provided by the mental health service, contact Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
You can find more information on their website. - Or, if there are a number of providers involved, or if you prefer, you can contact Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group, who commission healthcare in Somerset. You can find more information on their website.
Type of provision
Universal - This is for everyone, including people with special educational needs and disabilities
