SHINE, Support, Hope, Inclusion, Networks and Empowerment aims to equip 16 to 25 year olds with the knowledge they need to take the next step in life. Whether you are looking to move to independent living, further education, or into the workplace for the first time, SHINE offers tailored packages to support the learning of adaptive skills focused on your aspirations.

SHINE supports individuals to develop their adaptive skills in the community using psychosocial education alongside a trusted member of our staff.

SHINE is a personalised alternative provision supporting young people across Somerset, who may experience barriers to traditional education, including autism, ADHD, PDA, anxiety and co-occurring needs.

Our person-centred, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach starts with the young person’s strengths, interests, needs and EHCP outcomes. SHINE Coaches build safe, trusting relationships, gradually developing confidence, emotional regulation, communication, independence and engagement in learning.

Support includes practical life skills, activities, psychosocial education, our 12 Step Anxiety Program, vibes alexithymia work, digital skills and preparation for adulthood, education, training and employment.

Progress is measured using RARPA and individual outcomes. Safeguarding is central to our provision. Our three principles: Acceptance, Adaptation and Ambition.
