The Pod – Zone (young carers)
Care and supportSunnyside Place, Frome BA11 1LH, UK
Description
The Zone Young Carers group meets in term time on a Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30 pm once a fortnight.
The group also meets in the holidays for fun days out.
Young People who attend are aged 8-16 years however existing members are welcome to stay until they turn 18 years old. Many, but not all of the Young Carers have a disabled brother or sister – they really do benefit from spending time with peers who have an understanding of the differences in their home lives.
Activities led by the Young People; almost always include some form of cooking which can involve a lot of mess and competition! Other activities have included gaming on the Wii, pamper sessions and sports. As with our other clubs, the program is planned with the Young People but they do not have to take part in anything they would prefer not to.
We welcome referrals from Parent Carers and Professionals i.e. PFSA’s, schools, or health and social care. Please use the contact us page and we will be happy to respond to your enquiry.
