Whilst working in the Front of house area you will learn how to greet, serve and take customer orders, prepare a selection of hot and cold drinks, restocking the selection of cakes on display and also clearing and cleaning tables after customers in preparation for new customers to arrive.

In the food preparation part of this work preparation area you will learn how to cook and put together food items on the menu to serve to the customers using a range of catering style appliances. You will help order and replenish food stock whilst learning a range of hospitality and catering skills.

In the cleaning and hygiene part of the work preparation learning you will learn the importance of keeping the behind the scenes area of the coffee shop clean. This will include washing up, using an industrial dishwasher and packing items away. Organising washing up, dishwashing, packing away, organising racking, cleaning, end of day procedures.
