Description

We hear you provide free, professional counselling to any child or young person affected or bereaved by cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. We operate a children’s service and a young people’s service.

When children can express and understand their feelings they start to feel empowered, their self esteem grows and they become more resilient and able to cope with difficult life situations like a cancer diagnosis in the family.

Children’s Counselling might involve using toys and art materials as well as talking, can enable children to explore and express their feelings in a safe, contained environment.

It may help for you to have someone you can trust outside your family and friends. You may be able to talk about really difficult things more freely without worrying you are going to upset someone close to you or be judged.

Children’s counselling takes place in Frome, Street, Bath and Yeovil.

In school counselling takes place at Frome Community College, Selworthy Academy, Matravers School, Writhlington School and in the hub at John of Gaunt serving a number of primary schools in the area.
