About

This year marks 10 years since the King Charles III England Coast Path opened in Somerset. To celebrate, the Somerset Trail Partnership is organising a programme of special walks and events.

Since the path opened on 15 March 2016, the team has created circular walks, Storywalks, and guided events to help people enjoy and explore the coast.

What is happening this year

We are planning a full season of anniversary walks and activities, including guided circular walks with our Trail Partnership members. Some events already confirmed are:

Guided Mining and Monks Walk – Watchet Circular

  • Thursday 16 April – Hosted by Watchet Visitor Centre as part of Watchet Walking Week (13 to 18 April).

Guided Walk – Kilve Circular

  • Saturday 11 July – Hosted by The Quantock Hills National Landscape.

80 Miles in Eight Days Challenge Walk

  • 19 to 26 September – This is the third time this challenge has run. Starting at County Gate and finishing at Brean Down, it offers the chance to walk the entire Somerset coast.

Organised and hosted by the Somerset Trail Partnership.

More events coming soon

We are also planning extra coastal walks, seashore rambles and nature walks. We will keep adding to the anniversary programme as new events are confirmed. Please check back for updates and booking links.
