Introduction

In Spring 2026 we will be launching Somerset’s Accessible Coast. This is a new set of resources designed to help more people plan and enjoy a visit to the Somerset coastline, including areas on or close to the King Charles III England Coast Path.

What it will include

An online system with Street View–style walkthroughs showing:

  • path surfaces
  • steps
  • pinch points
  • non-accessible barriers
  • car parks
  • public toilets

A series of local printed leaflets with:

  • clear maps
  • accessibility grades
  • links to the Somerset’s Accessible Coast Online system

Our goal is to highlight accessible routes on or close to the Coast Path and to provide information that helps people to plan a visit to the Somerset coast.

First locations being developed

The first locations will cover:

  • Minehead to Blue Anchor
  • Watchet
  • East Quantoxhead – Kilve – Lilstock
  • Apex Park and Burnham‑on‑Sea
  • Brean Down

Links to information resources and the online system will be available here once the system is live. Please check back in Spring 2026.
