Introduction

Entry to all 16 recycling sites is free, and depositing household waste is free.

Business waste is taken at ten of the sites and charges apply, as well as a vehicle permit scheme. For more information visit business waste and recycling sites.

Charges apply for disposing of certain materials at all our sites because they are not classed as household waste. Please pay a team member by credit or debit card when you arrive at the recycling site.

information

From 1 January 2024, there will be changes to charges for DIY waste.

There will be no charge for construction and demolition materials including asbestos, plasterboard, hardcore and rubble from household DIY projects.

Each calendar month every household can bring up to eight, 50 litre sacks (or equivalent 2m sheets of asbestos or plasterboard) free of charge to a recycling site over a maximum of four visits in a month.

You need to pre-book your trip to dispose of this DIY waste, we need to know:

  • the amount of material you are disposing (up to 8×50 litre sacks per month)
  • the number of times you will need to visit (up to four visits per month)

If you need to dispose of asbestos, plasterboard or hardcore or rubble in excess of your free allowance you can pay here.
