What is a prize gaming permit?

A prize gaming permit allows you to provide gaming with prizes on specified premises. The permit will last for 10 years.

Prize gaming is gaming where the nature and size of the prize available is not determined by either the number of people playing, the amount paid for, or raised by the gaming.

It can comprise of a variety of games, providing that the participation fees and prizes do not exceed prescribed limits. The prize can be a cash or non-cash prize.

You cannot apply for a prize gaming permit if a club gaming permit or premises licence issued the Licensing Act 2003, is in place for the same premises.
