Introduction

A diverse and varied selection of markets take place throughout the year across the towns in Somerset. Markets showcase the best in local produce, and you can find a huge offering of fresh foods, seasonal fruit and vegetables, locally brewed beers, a fantastic range of regional cheeses, crafts and so much more.  Here is a list of some of the markets that take place across Somerset.

Axbridge

Axbridge Farmers Market

The monthly farmers market takes place on the first Saturday of every month, between 9am and 1pm in Axbridge Town Square.

Bridgwater

Bridgwater Cornhill Indoor Market

The Cornhill is the historic centre of the medieval town. Originally there was an octagonal market cross on the site. The Cornhill market cross was erected in the late 14th century when the Cornhill was known as Cornchepyng. On market days, fish, fowl, vegetables, and other fair were traded at the Cornhill.

The Market is open Monday 9am until 12 noon, Tuesday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm and Saturdays 9am to 3pm. It is closed all day Sunday.
Please note that each unit may operate more varied opening hours within the above constraints.
Bridgwater Cornhill Market

Bridgwater Castle Market

The monthly farmers market in Bridgwater was becoming so successful that it is now weekly. The newly renamed Bridgwater Castle Market takes place every Friday between 9am and 2pm in Fore Street. Those market traders interested in taking space need to contact Steve Griffiths of GPR Traders on 07764 156621.

Burnham-on-Sea Farmers Market

The monthly farmers market takes place on the last Friday of every month, between 9:00am and 1pm in the High Street.
