Staying safe and healthy

Healthy living is for everyone. We can all make small changes that will improve our physical and mental health. You can reduce the risk of long-term health conditions by making healthier choices.

Being as physically healthy as you can, will help you stay healthy emotionally too. If you’re eating the right food and exercising, your body will be stronger and help you to cope with stress and fight illness.

We have a section on staying safe and healthy designed for young people.

Healthy lifestyle

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important for everyone and small changes can help. It’s easy to fall into bad habits and neglect healthy routines we’ve established, especially when you are busy or under stress. Looking after yourself is important and within this section, you will find advice on a range of things to help you maintain your health and wellbeing.

Some people find it helpful to join a group or take part in activities with others to help them keep active. You can find local activities and events in our services section or by clicking on the link below.

You may find it helpful to explore the related content on this page to find further information on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, mental health and sexual health. There are also links to services that can help you and your families such as health visitors, school nurses and immunisation teams.
