Places to visit
Families in Somerset can get free activity day passes if they have a child or young person with a disability or additional need.
You can use these passes to visit places such as:
- Hestercombe
- Puxton Park
- Court Farm County Park
- Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens
- Noah’s Ark Zoo
- Wild Place
- Ferne Animal Sanctuary

Booking a pass
To book a pass, email: ciateam@somerset.gov.uk
Include:
- your child’s name
- date of birth
- details of their additional need
- which pass you would like
- the dates you want to visit
Before you book
- Passes are given on a first come, first served basis
- You may not get your first choice of date
- Try to book early to avoid missing out
- Give at least 5 working days’ notice
For some visits, you may need to show proof of your child’s needs, such as a Disability Living Allowance letter. You will be told when you book.
You can usually book one pass per child each week.
Plan your visit
Check the venue’s website before you go. This will tell you:
- opening times
- special events
- any changes to access
Other discounts
You may also be able to save money with:
- the Somerset MAX Card, which gives discounts on attractions for children with additional needs
- the CEA Card, which gives a free cinema ticket for a carer
These can help make days out more affordable.
