Other information

Somerset Max Card

The Max Card is designed to make days out more affordable for foster families and families of children with additional needs. It is a nationally recognised discount card for attractions, venues and days out throughout the UK.

The Community Inclusion and Activity Team (CIA Team) offers the Max Card to any family with a child or young person with a disability or additional need aged 0 to 25 years living in Somerset.

The cards are free to families and one card is allocated to each household. The card lasts for 2 years.

The Max Card website has more information about the card, and where it can be used.  For example, venues in Somerset that offer discount to MAX card holders range from soft play and trampolining to crazy golf and a skate park.  Days out from a steam railway to family theme park, and willow wetlands to caves.  As well a variety of historic buildings including Cranmore Tower, Cothay Manor, The Bishops Palace and Wells Cathedral.

To apply for the Somerset Max Card please phone the Community Inclusion and Activity Team on 01823 358117 or email ciateam@somerset.gov.uk. You will need to share the name of the child, child’s nature of disability or additional need and the address to send the card to.  Some venues may request evidence of disability alongside the Max Card, for example through Disability Living Allowance letter or paperwork from school.
