Overview
A Supported Internship is a type of learning programme for young people aged 16 to 24 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It helps you get ready for work if you need some extra support.
Most of the time, you’ll be working at a real business to learn job skills. You’ll also do some learning with a college or training provider. It’s a great way to get experience before starting a paid job.
We want to help young people in the area learn the skills they need for their future careers. Supported Internships are available in lots of areas like:
- Digital and IT
- Sport
- Food
- Office work
- Retail (shops)
- Gardening (horticulture)
- Hospitals and police
