Some key information

  • This is a 37 hours per week role, Monday to Friday, working throughout the county and based at one of our depots in Wellington, Yeovil or Glastonbury.
  • 28 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Will work as part of the Grounds Services Team
  • Full-Time Permanent contract

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of the people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Undertaking of all arboriculture operations including climbing, felling, planting and operating a MEWP.
  • Use of hand tools, powered hand tools and climbing equipment
  • Driving a company vehicle up to 3.5t and trailer.
  • Compete paperwork / online forms as required

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Have experience of Grounds operations and tree maintenance
  • Experience of inspecting / surveying tree conditions and health
  • Degree, relevant qualification / experience in Arboriculture, Forestry, or a related field, such as LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection
  • Computer literate
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Used to working outdoors.
