Work to complete improvement works to the cycling and walking route along A39, between Minehead to Dunster, starts this week.

Work is expected to take 7 weeks and the team will be able to do this while maintaining two-way traffic on the A39 during the day, which will keep disruption down to a minimum.

Some night work will be required under light-controlled traffic management at the start and towards the end of the programme.

There will be a temporary 30 mph speed limit in place for duration of works to improve safety for workforce and travelling public.

Somerset Council’s Lead Member for Transport and Waste, Councillor Richard Wilkins said:

It’s great to see this safe walking and cycling route delivered.

Our team will be able to keep disruption down to a minimum while work is being done and the end result will be an excellent facility people can enjoy, whether cycling to and from school and work or simply for pleasure.

We’re committed to improving travel provision and giving people choices in how they wish to get around.

Plans can be viewed via the Council’s Find small improvement schemes page.

If you spot a problem on the road you can report it quickly and easily via the Council’s Report a problem on the road page.
