Introduction
As the designated Highway Authority, we are responsible for the management and maintenance of the entire highway network, including all adopted roads, bridges and structures, signage, verges, and roundabouts. We currently have approximately 120 roundabouts with central islands, some very basic, covered in grass or shrubs, others very floral and some fully paved which would be suitable for the placement of advertisements.
Schemes
Local authority roundabout sponsorship or advertising schemes are now very common throughout the UK and we would like to offer local businesses the opportunity to advertise. Roundabout sponsorship is typically used by small to medium sized local business to raise their profile. It serves as a cost-effective way for them to promote themselves in high visibility locations for considerably less money than would otherwise be possible – helping boost the local economy.
We will ensure a consistent approach to signing, maintenance and management of advertising across our portfolio. The income generated from advertising on Highways assets will be reinvested in the Highways network.
Roundabout advertising typically constitutes four signs on a roundabout, or one sign facing traffic approaching from each direction. The company that advertises on a roundabout will have their branding and a simple message on all four signs. The minimum length of advertising is 12 months and the branding on the signs will remain constant during this period.
The full roll-out of this opportunity will be carried out in phases, at which point an availability and booking function will be added. Please check back here regularly for updates.
In the meantime, if you would like to express an interest in advertising on one of our roundabouts -or would like to be kept informed – please complete the form.
