Bridge Forward Mentoring Ltd provides personalised mentoring and academic subject tutoring for children and young people aged 5 to 21 across West Somerset. Our fully mobile service delivers flexible, individualised support to help young people achieve positive educational and personal outcomes.
Led by a qualified teacher, we provide personalised programmes that combine 1-1 mentoring, academic subject tutoring, outdoor learning and community-based experiences to meet individual needs.
As a fully mobile service, support can be delivered in schools, homes, libraries, community venues, parks, woodland and other suitable locations across West Somerset. This flexible approach enables learning to take place in environments where each young person feels safe, engaged and able to thrive. All transport and community-based activities are supported by robust safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, appropriate insurance and parental consent where required.
We support children and young people with SEND, SEMH, Autism (ASC), ADHD, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), anxiety, attachment needs and complex behavioural presentations. We also work with learners who are disengaged from education, on reduced timetables, at risk of exclusion, awaiting specialist placements or returning to education following absence.
Academic subject tutoring is available in English, Mathematics, Science, Reading and across the wider curriculum, including History, Geography, Art and Music. Learning is tailored to each learner’s starting point, interests, school curriculum and Education, Health and Care Plan (where applicable), helping to build confidence, close learning gaps and prepare for future success.
Our mentoring is child-centred, strengths-based and outcome-focused, using positive relationships to improve engagement, attendance, emotional wellbeing, resilience, confidence and independence. Working closely with schools, local authorities, families and other professionals, we help every young person achieve positive, sustainable educational and personal outcomes.
