Description

We provide trauma-aware, equine-assisted alternative education and therapeutic support for children and young people who find mainstream education challenging or need a different approach to thrive.

Our service offers a nurturing, nature-based provision that supports emotional regulation, nervous system awareness, and resilience-building through the EquiScholars curricula.

Sessions integrate equine-assisted learning, movement science, co-regulation strategies, and trauma-aware mentoring in a calm, structured setting. We also deliver a Post-16 progression pathway for young people who benefit from practical, therapeutic learning that builds life skills, confidence, and future readiness in a supportive environment.

All sessions are delivered in small groups or 1-to-1, led by experienced staff. Thrive and Polyvagal informed approaches are embedded across our provision, supporting emotional development, secure relationships, and improved engagement with learning. Our setting is inclusive and responsive, especially for Children and Young People (CYP) with SEND, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or neurodivergence.

Sessions are structured, sensory-aware, and relationship-centred, with a strong focus on co-regulation, consistency, and trust. We also offer an Early Intervention Programme (EIP), a structured 1-to-1 therapeutic mentoring programme for Children and Young People (CYP) who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or early signs of disengagement. We provide regular progress reports, contribute to Education, Health and Care plan,(EHCP) reviews, and attend multidisciplinary meetings to ensure continuity of care and joined-up support for each young person. Referrals accepted from schools, parents, social care, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and other professionals.
