Future Roots was established in 2008. Our mission is to provide a safe, positive learning environment for young people, particularly those experiencing high levels of adversity. Based on a working farm, Future Roots offers a therapeutic and emotionally empathic setting where young people can learn, grow and thrive. Our dedicated, qualified and experienced mentors deliver a unique combination of animal-assisted therapy, resilience-based programmes, academic qualifications and a wide range of learning opportunities. Recent feedback from a retired head teacher and Ofsted inspector visiting Future Roots included: “This isn’t alternative provision; it’s appropriate provision.” We are proud to deliver appropriate provision: opportunities that meet individual needs, reignite a young person’s thirst for learning, and build confidence so they can recognise and realise their potential.
