Local Offer Live
We often host events to help you learn about the offer of services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in Somerset.
Our events cover a variety of topics with speakers and interactive sessions, both online and in person with a market stall of providers. We call this Local Offer Live because it gives you a chance to talk to the people that provide the services on offer locally.
Lets Talk SEND and Inclusion
We are running events to bring together parent carers and practitioners in Somerset to talk about SEND and Inclusion.
- 4 March 2026, 10am – 2pm at The Assembly Rooms Frome
- 19 November 2026, 12pm – 5pm at The GateWay Yeovil
- May 2027, to be confirmed in Bridgwater
The events include:
- Discussion tables covering a range of current SEND topics, encouraging open conversations and the sharing of experiences.
- Local Offer Live, showcasing services, support groups, charities, and community organisations through information stands.
- Activities for children and young people, helping families attend and engage with the event while parents and carers explore the support available.

- Local Offer Live 3-7 October 2023 playlist – these include ADHD, Connect Somerset, EHCP myth busting, and Somerset’s Graduated Response Tool.
- Local Offer Live 7 to 10 March 2023 playlist – these include fire and rescue service home checks, school exclusions myths and top tips, using visuals to support your child and supported employment coordinators.
- Local Offer Live 10 to 15 October 2022 playlist – these include how to be confident in managing meetings, Portage, home finder service and what is a collaborative outcomes meeting.
- Local Offer Live 2 to 7 February 2022 playlist – these include understanding the benefits system, Community Inclusion and Activities Team, Education Health and Annual Review Health and Care process and public health nursing.
