There are lots of different sports to try and hopefully you will find a sport you like

Introduction

Sport is a way to stay healthy and keep fit. You can do sports on your own or with other people. Doing sports with other people is called team sports.

There are lots of different sports to try and hopefully you will find a sport you like. It is more common for people with a disability to have the choice to play mainstream sports now. It is Okay to Play resources developed by Cerebral Palsy Sport provide hints and tips for how to be active with a physical impairment.

A lot of sporting activities can make special adjustments so you can join in. Where you play together with people of different types of additional needs this is called pan-disability. But also, some para-sports have been created for people with a specific disability and do not have an able-bodied equivalent. Visit Every Body Moves for more information.

Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership run lots of activities and adjust them so you can join in. They also help other sports clubs to support people with additional barriers to participation through their Clubs for All Inclusion workshops. You can search opportunities on the Somerset Moves Activity Finder.
