Description
We provide inclusive activities across Somerset for children with a disability, or additional need, including:
- monthly family clubs and teen clubs,
- fun days out for your child and family during school holidays,
- MAX cards for discounted entry to attractions,
- free family passes to various venues in Somerset.
CIAT Coordinators can offer short-term support to share advice and information on local activities and support groups. This support is available if your child:
- has a diagnosed disability or is being assessed for a disability.
- has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC plan)
- receives Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
A Coordinator will talk with you about your family’s needs. This can be done over the phone or in person.
If we think your family needs more support, we may refer you to the Early Support Team with your permission. They can carry out a social care assessment and work with you to create a plan to meet your family’s needs.
To access support from the Community Inclusion and Activity Team (CIAT), please call Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224 and ask for an assessment.
You can find more information about the team on the Somerset Council Children with Disabilities page and activities for families and young people page.
