People said it is hard to find leisure activities for the whole family, not just for a child with SEND.
It is also hard to find clear information about how accessible places are.
The problem
There was not much information on the Local Offer.
Information on other websites was often out of date or hard to trust.
We listened
We added new pages in 2023 to help you find accessible leisure activities more easily.
These pages include:
- arts and creative activities
- theatres and cinemas
- swimming pools
- accessible sports
- SEND-friendly sessions
- inclusive youth groups
We have also shared the SEND events calendar with local providers.
More providers are now adding their accessible sessions, so you can see what is happening near you.
We hope these updates make it easier for you and your family to go out and enjoy activities with less stress.

We are working with providers to improve information that we do not manage.
We have refreshed the pages in 2026 so the information is clearer and easier to read.
