Support for victims and witnesses
Being a victim or witness of crime can feel upsetting, confusing or scary. Some children and young people may need extra support to feel safe and understood. This can be especially important if they have SEND, communication needs or find it hard to cope with change or stress.
The Crown Prosecution Service have easy read guides for victims. These tell you about the CPS. They will also tell you what will happen if you tell the police that you have been the victim of a crime.
The Ministry of Justice also has an easy read Victims Code explaining your rights after a crime and what support services should provide.
We work with different services to make sure people get the right help at the right time.
